Our soap is made with food grade oils and quality ingredients including olive, coconut, palm, jojoba, sweet almond and castor oils; cocoa, shea and mango butters as well as local honey and Fair Trade coffee. We make our soap by hand and yes, it is made with sodium hydroxide (or lye) because true soap cannot be made without it. The lye is totally consumed during saponification leaving none in the finished soap. We use Essential Oils in our Ocean line of soaps (or leave them unscented), and Fragrance Oils in our River Line of soap. We leave our soap to cure for a few weeks to ensure you have the mildest and hardest bar possible. Because some people have sensitivities to specific scents and/or ingredients, please read the labels or ingredient lists before you buy. If you experience any adverse effects, discontinue use immediately and contact us.
Handcrafted soap does need a little TLC in order to remain long-lasting. Because it can get soft if left on a flat surface when wet, it should be kept on a surface that allows air circulation, such as our wooden soap decks.
Custom orders of soap are welcome whether for a gift, a wedding, for party favours or because you have specific ingredient issues. I would be delighted to discuss your specific needs and budget, ~ Ann McGee
